To quote a recent article which appeared in The Equine Chronicle, “Even if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Don in person, you’ve no doubt seen his signature on countless horse photos. And where you see the name, you’ll see a photographic beauty and quality that validates why his work is considered some of the best in the horse world for the past three decades”.

Another axiom of Don’s, “Something terrible happens when you advertise with bad pictures…….nothing!” Get the picture? The Shugart’s business started when their daughter, Vicki, became interested in showing horses in 4-H. Through the years the techniques of photographing horses has changed and Don has kept up with the changes that have evolved into showing these animals in the most effective ways to show the beauty and agility that is built into these dynamic creatures.

Don and Jan have been on location at The State Fair of Texas, APHA National and World Shows, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, The Americana (Germany), various Quarter Horse shows, Appaloosa shows, Fort Worth Livestock Show and Rodeo, major NCHA shows, including the Super Stakes, Summer Spectacular and Futurity, plus private ranch photography.
